What Is the Outstanding Song in the Tiny Desk AI Meme?
The song behind the Outstanding Tiny Desk AI meme, its Gap Band roots and how to put your friends into a desk-concert video.
Updated October 30, 2026
The song in the Outstanding Tiny Desk AI trend is “Outstanding,” originally recorded by the Gap Band with Charlie Wilson on lead vocals. The meme turns a desk-concert performance into a new cast: friends, teams and familiar faces become the band.
Is Outstanding the song title or the AI tool?
Outstanding is the song title. Tiny Desk describes the intimate concert format associated with NPR. AI edits create new casts in that setting; the song, performance format and tools that make edits are separate things.
Why do people search for the Outstanding meme?
Some viewers want to identify the song; others want to make their own group-chat band. If you want the music, look for the Gap Band’s Outstanding or Charlie Wilson’s performances. If you want your friends in the video, choose a reference template and assign a portrait to each role you want to replace.
How do I make an Outstanding Tiny Desk AI video?
Choose a template, add one to five separate portraits, and select Generate. Sign in when prompted and choose your video quality. Unselected roles retain the reference performers. Completed videos are available in My videos.
Is this an official NPR or artist service?
This is an independent AI video service, not affiliated with NPR, Tiny Desk Concerts, Charlie Wilson or the Gap Band.
